A letter from Emma about: TOMS

Dear Reader,

Today's post is all about a wonderful company called TOMS. I discovered TOMS just over a year ago, whilst on the look out for ethical products I wanted to buy some comfy shoes (but not trainers) to keep my feet cool in the summer. And TOMS ticked all the boxes. I recently have started a new job where I am on my feet all day and I needed to invest in some shoes that are comfy but also pretty, so I looked no further than TOMS.

You may already be familiar with their ethos, but just in case you are not. When you buy a pair of shoes from this lovely company they match every pair of shoes brought with a new pair of shoes for a child in need. This created the slogan One for One. So every time you buy a pair of shoes a child in need is given a new pair too, I don't know about you but I think that's absolutely brilliant.

Here are my lovely TOMS:

The shoes also come with a handy shoe bag, which is great for when you're travelling.

I think the ethos behind TOMS shoes are brilliant, but also they are just so fantastically comfy! This particular pair is very summer but they have a wide range of different styles to choose from. I already have my eye one a  pair of TOMS ankle boots for Christmas. TOMS can be found online and in many high street stores including Office and Schuh. These Toms were £41.99 but with my 10% student discount I brought them for £37.79 from Office. A pretty reasonable when you take into account that this purchase paid for my shoes and also enabled a new pair of shoes to be given to a child in need.

TOMS also sell other products including eyewear, whereby every pair of sunglasses you purchase will help give sight to an individual in need. It's that One for One again.

Yours,

Emma Dilemma

    1. Thank you :). I actually find that Toms have a really good arch support, I often find that lots of trainers don't which is why Toms are great for me.

  6. Aw they're lovely Em. I love my Toms that you bought me :) When we have some money I'm going to buy Libby a pair of Toms, I think they're brilliant. I don't usually spend that much money on shoes but I would much rather do so when the money goes to such a good cause. They also make vegan shoes which is a great idea in my opinion :)

    1. Thanks Nat, I'm glad you do. I am the same I think it's completely justified when another child benefits from your shoe purchase. I wish all shoe companies were the same.
I can't wait to see Libby's TOMS, they will be so cute!

  10. I 100% agree w/ you on them being super super comfy and hip, but i don't completely buy their ethos. i really need to read up more on the company, but i did hear not all of them were made in the best conditions. and for the price, they could do a lot more than donate 1 pair of shoes, so overall i think they're still WAY better than most shoe companies to even give back at all, but i also am not fully convinced it's not in any pat a bit of a marketing effort of theirs as well. although, full disclosure, i found them at a last chance discount store so for $20 I snatched them up immediately.

    1. That's interesting and the first I've heard of it, I shall try and find out more information regarding the shoes that are given out. However, I do agree with you in that they are still a lot more ethical than most shoes companies, I don't know of another that gives out any shoes to disadvantaged children. But unfortunately it seems that with working conditions there is always need for improvement.

  11. I love that pattern. I've been debating getting some of these shoes recently... I go back and forth a lot! I think they are really cute and comfortable though so... I may have to get some soon :)
